The general idea is "more information is better than less". It's not always true, but it often is.
For example, blood sugar changes throughout the day. If you are not diabetic, you may never need a measurement. If you are diabetic but your blood sugar is well controlled, one test a day may be enough to see if you are staying in control or if you are losing control. But for diabetics who need insulin, more measurements per day are necessary. Wearable technology can provide continuous data and allow you to get insulin more efficiently.
I have a friend with a pacemaker. It continuously sends data to your doctor.
If you have borderline high blood pressure, ongoing data could tell if it's getting dangerously high at times during the day.
What are some of the latest health gadgets in wearable technology in India?
Most of us don't need them unless you live alone?
The reason I make this statement is because I've read about elderly people in relatively good health dying alone, and I haven't heard of any wearable device that can possibly detect a stopped pulse; heartbeat - anything and dialing ICE (In Case Of Emergency); number. ??
I have a Fitbit app that tells me my walking distance as selected. This is without a wearable device - all I have to do is carry the mobile, it works via GPS. (I believe Google has taken over this company).
It crashes quite often!
I believe that if you follow fairly well-established health protocols, wearables aren't really required - except for social/affordable reasons.
However, demand is increasing and managing to meet it – especially from watch/mobile manufacturers!
